Thomas Woodcrafts is Closing
December 2018 will mark four years since I established Thomas Woodcrafts. I have decided that I will be closing the doors on Thomas Woodcrafts at the end of December 2018. It will not be a permanent closure, but it will be for the foreseeable future.
It has been an amazing adventure to learn how to run a business and develop products that you and many kids enjoy. The business very quickly became profitable and at times demand outstripped my capacity to make products ordered. Last year my sales were quadruple what they had been the year before. I truly appreciate all of your support.
In those four years I have had an opportunity to meet many many people at craft shows and when you have come to pick up products that you have ordered. I have heard from many of you about how much your kids have enjoyed their rockers or cars, etc. It makes my happy to know that kids are enjoying what I make. Kids were my primary motivation when I got started.
Kids are also part of my motivation in my decision to close down the business for the foreseeable future. This time it is my kids. I work a day job and I run Thomas Woodcrafts mornings, evenings and weekends. The time commitment reduces the amount of time I have in a week to just be a dad, a partner and to take care of myself.
Order by December 1, 2018
I will be participating in three craft shows this fall for those of you who are local and I will fill all orders placed and paid for before December 1st, even if that means that some are completed in January if they are not specifically for holiday gifts. If I have stock left over from the craft show season I will leave my Etsy shop open until those inventory items have been sold out.
Thank you to all of you for your support and interest. You have helped to make this business what it has become.
